Friends and Family

I do read your posts and think they are all worthwhile.  Here is what I think should be for singles in order.

Forget Myself
Crystal Baller?
Can't Get Away

Where I am at, I hear it may be Crystal Baller next instead, but it hasn't been set in stone yet.  My Favorite songs on this album are-Blinded- Palm Reader-Forget Myself-Company- Hit and Run-Faster-Danger- Exile from the DVD. However, every song has something good to offer in the whole scope of things.

am saying to you, that by the end of this year, there will be a EP.  Why? Because a few of the tracks that didn't make this record are completed, and the rest should be instrumental-the bulk of time for ootv was lyrics.  I will be able to stretch out more on this as a guitar-artist for those of you who like landscapes.  I plan to overlay many overdubs and solo's, while striving for tonal beauty.  There is a song complete called Carnival Barker, which to me is one my finest guitar moments to date. Previously, I had listed a who played what per song, but pulled it down because of minor discrepancies.  I will confer with Arion and Stephan and we will so in the future list it for those of you who have said that you are interested.

The two things I would have done differently on this album are as follows.  Cut out a few of the guitar parts in Cant Get Away" too much information" and cut the tator tots line, and have Self Righteous be sung by Stephan alone.  I like Kimya, but It didn't make the song better in my opinion.  I am not afraid to speak my mind, and Stephan, while he may be the final word, always is seeking council for every type of decision.

We are human- like army buddies in this band.  I do love em- sometimes want to kill em- sometimes I deserve an ass kicking myself- but for the most part very proud of this record and love these guys.  I am not afraid to speak my mind, cuz if it comes from the heart, the truth shines.

What makes something truly "Third Eye Blind" is when it inspires something in Stephan- lyric- a melody- a feeling- but let the myth be dispelled.  It is just as often through Arion-and Myself- and Brad that this process happens through to him. It is alot of hard work by people like Arion-Sean Bearsford-Jason Carmer-Brad- and Myself behind the scenes, that bring each album to you. Stephan is a great lyricist- and a powerful frontman, and a good producer.  Arion is a great Bass player- and in my experience a great counterforce as a producer to Stephan in the studio.  It is my job, in the studio, to facilitate the guitar parts that inspire them both to get the song to feel right for them, as well as for myself. This does not always happen in the healthiest of ways, but the results are usually good.

In my opinion, Arion is undercredited and underated in this production process. He helped me out a lot by making me feel comfortable and lock into a groove. I don't think the DVD properly lets the people know this- we each have the freedom to make the music we feel. It is a group effort.  Only in very rare cases are the parts written by Stephan through Brad or Myself on the guitar- or the drums.  It does happen occasionally, but not frequently 1 out of 50 I'd say.

An SJ solo record would not be ootv or like any other 3eb record.  It would be a record more like Cant get Away and Wake for young souls etc.  In conclusion, each player works in concert to make the magic happen.
We are entering a very creative period in this band.  While it may be difficult at times for me to deal with two such different points of production views in the studio, I respect them both and make it my life's work to help bring music to you that makes you feel alive.   With much love and appreciation.

P.S. - Make a post with this message in village churchyard and I will gladly return your requests in another post after I read them.  Just mark them under a heading so I can find them. The truth shall set you free. Cheers.
