Anthony Joseph Fredianelli was born on April 2, 1969 in Santa Monica California and raised In Las Vegas, Nevada since the age of 4. Tony is married (to Kristi) and they have a son, Joseph. Tony comes from a musical family, His father, Ronald, is a 50's pop icon (he is in a group called The Gaylords and has been in the music business for over 50 years) and Terry, his mother, was a Las Vegas showgirl. He has 4 siblings (Ronald Jr. Missy, Chris, and Tiffany). His baby sister Tiffany is in a band called (AUTOMATIC TAXI STAR) and his older brother Chris plays the background music for Third Eye Blind.

Tony's nickname is 'Monk' and he has collected an enormous amount of monkeys and monkey related gifts from fans while on tour. Tony has changed his hair color many times and plans on changing it many more. His favorite author is Edgar Allen Poe, his favorite movie is The Godfather, and his drink of choice on the tour bus is Jack Daniels.

Some of Tony's musical influences include Ronald Fredianelli, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, Elvis Costello, Yngwie Malmsteen, Allan Holdsworth, and Angus Young

Tony began playing music at an early age on the piano. After piano he decided to play the drums. Tony wasnt good at the drums but one day he saw a video of Jimi Hendrix's Woodstock performance and knew that's what he wanted to do. He learned how to play the guitar when he was 14 and picked it up immediately, 6-8 months later he was giving guitar lesson's. One of the first bands he was in was called Xethus. He started playing guitar professionally at the age of 18. He released his first album, The Forgotten Scroll, in 1987 with his band Apocrypha, The band released 2 more albums The Eye's Of Time(1988) and Area 54(1990) on Shrapnel records. He also released a solo album called Breakneck Speed(1993). All the words and music on the albums was written by Tony. He was also in a Bay Area band on Tommy Boy Records called Philbrite.

Tony was the original guitarist for Third Eye Blind. Tony played with 3eb on a demo (some songs included Semi charmed Life, Farther, Motorcycle Drive By, Tattoo of the Sun and Deep Inside of You). He left the band because they couldn't afford the plane ticket from Las Vegas (where Tony lived) to San Francisco (where the band rehearsed). After he left 3EB he formed his own band, Majik Alex, that has an Album called "That I Am". While in Majik Alex Tony was also in a well known Las Vegas cover band called Loveshack (Tony dressed as Prince) and in the family musical, Famiglia, that was written by his father.

Tony rejoined 3EB to play the background music for the Sundance Film Festival. Less then 24 hours later on January 25, 2000 3EB reacquired Tony as their lead guitarist. He made his first live performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Third Eye Blind has just completed 3 very successful tours The Dragons and Astronauts, The Red Summer Sun Tour, and the Gutterflower tour (with the Goo Goo Dolls. They are currently in the studio working on the follow up to Blue, titled Crystal Baller, which is scheduled for a February 2003 release.
