How was Apocrypha originally formed and how did you meet its band members?

I was 15 years old and sending out guitar instrumental solo tapes, with three part guitar on them. A guy named Mike Varney who owned a large independent record company called Shrapnel Records tracked them down and searched to find me whittling away in my room. He basically ran a Heavy Metal shredd label and needed talented guitarists to fill out his roster. I hadn't even had a chance to develop a style of my own yet, I had only been playing the guitar for 1 year, but it was a great opportunity for someone so young. Mike Varney took my talent and put a band surrounding it. He was the chief source in choosing a metal sound for me. I could have gone 50 different ways and would have to have this great opportunity happen. I was young and a bit naive.

After listening to The Forgotten Scroll, Area 54, & Eyes of Time, it is apparent that Apocrypha was a metal based band to the extreme... is heavy metal guitar your main passion?

No.

What was the most beneficial part of being a part of Apocrypha?

I got to tour the United States at a young age. I got experience in the studio. I also got a blunt taste for the way things are regarding money and music.

Did you enjoy your time with them?

Had great times on the road and a sense of brotherhood that only now with 3eb I feel again.

If you could use one word to best describe Apocrypha's music, what would it be and why?

Wrenching. It had a way of tearing your mind from your body.
